Plant foods, for example, comprise carbs and proteins that the body uses for energy generation; fats, essential fatty acids, and minerals that the body uses for energy storage; and vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients that the human body uses for health maintenance. Food on the market may be classified into three types: carbohydrate-rich, protein-rich, and fat-soluble. Carbohydrates are compounds that cannot be digested by the body’s enzymes on their own and must be absorbed through the digestive system in conjunction with vitamins and minerals. Proteins are chemicals that are metabolised rather than digested and are primarily employed by the body for the creation of specific hormones, tissues, and organs.

The majority of individuals in the Western world do not understand nutrition. The reason for this is that many people find it difficult to obtain information about proper nutrition, and the prevalent belief is that nutrition is simply buying food from the supermarket and eating it without first analysing its nutritional content and determining whether it is appropriate for our bodies. The truth is that nutrition has a lot more to do with our lifestyle than just buying some food at the store.
